💪 proteins 💪
One fact that you may heard over and over is that our body is made of water , however , did you know that 17% of our body is made up of protein? Well i'm here to talk and show you the amazing structures and functions of proteins!

What is Protein? A protein is a basic structure found in all life, composed of 20 amino acids , which are smaller molecules containing carbon , oxygen , hydrogen , and sometimes sulfur atoms. these individual amino acids can be combined in various ways .
From where do the amino acids come from? amino acids are essential for our body's function, derived from food and made in the body. They are broken down into individual amino acids, which are then transported to cells for cell assembly. Our bodies can produce half of the amino acids needed, while the rest come from food.
How much protein do we need in a day : Protein requirements vary according to weight and activity level. The average adult requires 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day, while athletes require between 1.2 and 2.0 grams, with endurance athletes needing the least and strength and power athletes needing the most. Athletes need to consume 1.2 to 2.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight each day, depending on their degree of activity.
Based on the provided procedure and purpose of Station 2, the aim is to determine which food among egg white solution (gelatin solution), milk, soda (7Up), and water contains the most protein. The Biuret solution is used to test for the presence of protein, and a color change to dark violet indicates the presence of protein.
Procedure/Observation:
- Label the test tubes as 1, 2, 3, and 4.
- Pour 5 ml of Biuret solution into each test tube.
- Add 10 drops of egg white solution to test tube 1.
Add 10 drops of milk to test tube 2.
Add 10 drops of soda to test tube 3.
Add 10 drops of water to test tube 4. - Gently shake each test tube until you see a color change.
- Record your observations.
Concluding the experiment:
i love proteins
